Gear for Kids Who Don’t Walk the Beaten Path

At KinderMountain, our roots are on the trail.

I’ve spent nearly four decades hiking through wild places—and for the past 17 years, I’ve had the joy (and challenge!) of doing it with kids in tow. Over the miles, I’ve learned that while the outdoors naturally calls to children—letting them be wild, curious, and free—comfort is key to keeping the experience joyful.

Too often, I saw young hikers bundled in cotton basics that couldn’t keep up with the weather or the trail. Wet sleeves, cold cores, and sagging socks quickly turned adventure into frustration. I knew my kids needed technical clothing built like mine—gear that could handle wind, water, mud, and miles.

So I created KinderMountain: thoughtfully designed outdoor wear for young explorers. Inspired by my own kids’ treks up peaks, through forests, and across alpine meadows, every piece in this line is built to move, layer, and last—so kids can stay out longer and love it more.

Beyond gear, KinderMountain is a reflection of my deepest passion: teaching kids to respect, protect, and connect with the natural world. I believe the best classroom is under the open sky. Through every hike, I teach my children the Leave No Trace principles, the 10 essentials, and the understanding that we don’t inherit the earth from our ancestors—we borrow it from our children.

At KinderMountain, we’re raising the next generation of stewards—trail-ready, adventure-hungry, and nature-loving. Let them roam. We’ll keep them dry.
